Care Bears: Bear Buddies Review
When I was a little girl I looked forward to Saturday morning cartoons all week! We didn’t have cable, and even if we had, there weren’t channels back then that aired children’s programming 24 hours a day like there are now. That doesn’t mean Saturday mornings have lost their magic, however! I love cuddling up on the couch with my girls to watch cartoons in our PJs and Care Bears is one of our favorites! “Show your love, hug someone. Caring fills the world with so much fun! We are the Care Bears, la, la, la, la, la!” I could probably sing you the entire song!
Care Bears: Bear Buddies was just released on DVD last Tuesday. It includes eight never-before-released episodes from the top-rated Saturday morning CBS TV series. Watch as Share, Oopsy, Love-a-lot and the rest of the Care Bears embark on new adventures that focus on “friendship” from creating a rockin’ music band to trying to cheer up a sad friend. Care Bears: Bear Buddies teaches kids valuable lessons about being true to themselves and each other, understanding, and forgiveness – themes of emotional intelligence that help kids develop. While supplies last, the all–new release comes packaged with a little lovable toy bear (we got Share, which just happens to be my daughter’s favorite!). These adorable toy bears come in 6 different color characters, but are available for a limited time only, so kids will be eager to search for their favorite color bears on store shelves!
I love the messages that come across through these short episodes. Every single one has a teaching moment. For example, “Belly Ball,” the first episode, teaches kids that playing a game isn’t always about winning. It’s important to appreciate others for their inner qualities rather than for their outward achievements. Valuable lessons that preschoolers need to learn! The entire DVD lasts just under 90 minutes, which makes each episode around 10 minutes long.
