Dropping EntreCard

EntreCardI’ve decided to stop using EntreCard.

For those of you that have no idea what this is, it’s a free advertising exchange network. You can read more about it on the EntreCard website.

When EntreCard made a bunch of changes a while back, I kept going back and forth about it. I didn’t like the changes, but decided to keep the widget on my blog anyway, if only to promote other blogs.

But I’m just not getting anything out of it anymore. It hit me when I saw my stats.

In the past 30 days:

  • I dropped 0 cards.
  • Only 66 cards were dropped on my blog.
  • 0 clicks via ads I placed (obviously).
  • 14 clicks from my blog to others.
  • 9 clicks from EntreCard.com to my blog.

By comparison, I used to get 66 drops in one day when I actively used EntreCard.

I’ve found so many wonderful blogs through this system, which I will always be grateful for, but like any other network, you get out of it only as much as you put into it. And it’s time for me to move on. I don’t have the time or the patience to drop cards for an hour a day like I used to.

    You know, I’ve been struggling with the same thing. Keep it or drop it? I haven’t been dropping, either, and I don’t like the changes they made with the paid ads. I should go check my stats.
