Better family nutrition with Jamie Oliver and Disney Family.com
Because Disney Family.com recognizes the importance of eating and living healthy, they wanted to provide tips and advice on slashing sugar, cooking light, healthy recipes and more. That’s why the site has partnered with Jamie Oliver – America’s new healthy food champion – and has recently added brand new site content focused on living better and living well. Jamie Oliver’s show, ‘Food Revolution,’ addresses how families can rediscover ways to cook simple, delicious and affordable meals, and Family.com now features recipes from Jamie as well as his personal tips for healthy living. In addition, if you missed it on TV, you can also stream episodes of Food Revolution from the site.
To spread the word about Family.com’s partnership with Jamie Oliver, and the corresponding site content, I’m offering a gift pack to one winner which includes Jamie Oliver’s book, Jamie’s Food Revolution, Family.com branded oven mitts and apron, and a cutting board and bowl set. It’s a prize valued at approximately $85!

To enter, please leave a comment telling me how you encourage your family to make healthy decisions when it comes to food, or let me know about a recent, positive lifestyle change you’ve made. Year round, you can visit Disney Family.com for parenting advice, travel ideas, recipes and more.

I don’t buy junk food, that way it is not in the house to eat.

I have cut soda out of our diets. I have never really liked the stuff, but everyone else in my house would down several cans a day. It turns out it was just as easy as not buying it since I do the shopping.

I encourage healthy eating by keeping fresh fruits and vegetables on hand for snacking.
We’ve removed almost all processed sugar from our food intake!
My son likes Jamie’s show and is daily complaining about the heavy kids in his P.E. class that can’t do most of the exercise’s
My son says kids his age are killing themselves by not exercising.
It really hits home as I have become very over weight.
I’m trying to drink only water and eat steamed vegetables.
My kids are extermly healthy and run, bike ride etc.
They are in sports.
I realize I need to get up and move it so my goal is to try and lose weight, but slowly as it took 8 years to add the weight I know it will take time to lose it the healthy way.
Thank you so very much for giving me a chance to be a winner

I go to a farmer’s market every weekend!
Upped my veggies count to 4+ a day, I feel great!
I bring my son with me to the grocery store so he sees all the different choices. Also if he gets in trouble he gets sugar taken away. So he has learned what products contain sugar.
My kids have to find the healthful contributions of the foods they want to eat before I will buy those items for them. They have learned to read labels and check portion sizes.
We drink carbonated lemon water instead of soda.

We try to keep lots of fruits and vegetables available and ready to be eaten in the refrigerator for snacks. I am trying to limit sweets in our house altogether but this is still a work in progress….
we’ve recently started eating at least one vegetarian dinner a week
I found that just having fruit in the refrig is not enough of an incentive So I keep several pieces in a bowl on the table so it is visible and handy.
My husband has always been a health nut concerned about being over weight. We have always been active people but that alone doesn’t seem to do the trick with pounds. Eating properly is important. We need to concentrate on our vegetables and fruits as well as whole grains. Staying away from processed foods and restaurants can be helpful. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway
I am an email subscriber. Would be most interested in this book. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway
I’m making a lot more recipes that are mainly vegetables, pasta or rice, with a small amount of meat instead of having primarily meat with veggies, etc. “on the side”.

Keeping good foods within easy reach- ie keep the fruits and veggies ready to go and as easy to get to as processed foods and kids will automatically gravitate to them.

We grow organic vegetables in the garden. Thanks.
Recent positive lifestyle change: joined an at work Weight Watchers group and am purchasing a used treadmill.
