Playmobil USA’s newest collections
I never had Playmobil toys as a kid, but fell in love with the brand when I saw their amazing pyramid, pictured to the right, at last year’s Time to Play Holiday Showcase.
It’s huge, amazingly detailed, and has so many different features. The great thing is that the Egyptian playworld includes tons of add-ons, so you can literally build an entire kingdom, little by little.
The company comes out with new themes often. Just released in April, the African Wildlife and Dragon’s Land playworlds offer children two wild adventures with limitless options for pretend and open-ended play. Like last year’s Egyptian theme, I like that all the items are sold separately, so you can build your own customized playworld.

Playmobil also frequently releases limited edition products, which I’m assuming are only produced in limited quantities. One of the newest limited edition sets is the Family Van with Boat and Trailer, part of the Nautical Expedition playworld.
Complete with mother, father, son, daughter and family dog, this set includes a boat trailer and a speed boat that floats! The hatch opens on the van for loading, which also has a folding seat in the back. You also get beach toys, luggage, a picnic basket, mugs and sunscreen. Talk about detail! The boat can be motorized with an additional RC accessory that is sold separately.

Love PlayMobil products…my “kids” are in their 30′s, but loved to play with them when they were little. As the grandmother of 2 little girls (who fancy themselves to be royalty,) I know that they would love the Playmobil Princess Fantasy Trunk!
