She’s not a piece of meat. We get it.
Then why dress like one?
At first I didn’t think the meat on the ‘meat dress’ was real. I mean, that’s just gross! Once I saw a close up of her, I realized that it probably was raw meat. And didn’t get it. Again, just gross. Slimy. Smelly. Ugh. This is what Lady Gaga told Ellen about the meaning behind the dress:
“…it’s that if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re gonna have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And, I am NOT a piece of meat.”
The dress was designed by Franc Fernandez. You can visit Franc’s blog for more photos.
Her other two dresses were amazing, however! The first was a gown from Alexander McQueen’s last collection. Gaga looked somewhat subdued here, yet flawless from head to toe. I loved her makeup, too.
The second, a black leather Giorgio Armani gown, also gorgeous, but obviously heavy. She had trouble getting out of her seat when she won!
Overall, I thought the VMAs were boring this year. Predictable. I expected more from Chelsie Handler. It was the first time in 16 years that the VMAs was hosted by a woman… she should have killed it.

So that was REAL meat?? GROSS!!
I don’t know if I’d want to sit next to her when she’s wearing the meat or behind her with the hats. She’s inventive though.
