Voice Rockrz Mic
Maya has a floor-to-ceiling mirror in her room, and she can spend hours in front of it, singing and practicing her dance moves. She loves American Idol, America’s Got Talent, and any other reality show where kids and adults can show off their skills!
On that note, just in time for the new season of Glee, the premiere of The X Factor and the holiday shopping season, a new interactive microphone has hit store shelves – the Voice Rockrz Mic. Geared towards children ages four and up, and available in pink and blue, what sets Voice Rockrz apart from other children’s microphones is its creator – First Act – the prominent musical instrument company that creates instruments for artists such as Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson.
What does it do? The wireless Voice Rockrz Mic turns a regular performance into an extra special one with its three voice effects – Hi-Note, Echo-Tastic and Robot-Riffic. Simply tap one of the included fashion accessories – a bracelet and a ring – to the target on the back of the mic and your child’s voice magically changes! Tap the ring to activate the Hi-Note voice effect (think Alvin & the Chipmunks); tap the bracelet to change to the Echo-Tastic voice effect; or tap the ring and bracelet in succession for the Robot-Riffic voice (my daughters’ favorite!) Check out this video of Maya playing with the mic:
Getting the girls to understand how to activate each voice effect took a little bit of practice, but they’ve got it down! The mic also features drumroll and applause sound effects accessible with a touch of the FX button… so easy and fun! Plus, by plugging in an MP3 player into the jack on the side of the mic, kids can sing along to their favorite songs. Maya is looking forward to using this feature with her iPod touch, but I just haven’t gotten around to buying the cable. Including it in the Voice Rockrz package would make it so convenient!
How does it hold up? We’ve had our Voice Rockrz Mic for a while now, and while it’s been dropped multiple times – even thrown once or twice – it’s still working perfectly. It requires three “AAA” batteries, which are included, and I haven’t had to change yet, even after a couple of weeks of daily use. I find it funny when Maya randomly picks up the mic to get her friends’ attention, even if they’re nearby, like a megaphone! She’s looking forward to playing with it at her upcoming sleepover birthday party next week.
BUY IT
Available in pink with flower ring and cute skull bracelet and blue with skull ring and zipper bracelet, the Voice Rockrz Mic retails for $24.99 and is sold in store at Kmart, Meijer, Target, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, and more! You can also find the mic online at Amazon.com, Kmart.com, ToysRUs.com, and Walmart.com. It would make a great birthday present, accessory for a Halloween costume, or a fun stocking stuffer if you’re already thinking about that! For more information, please visit www.voicerockrz.com. By the way, First Act also creates musical instruments that are to scale for children to learn to play. We had their drum set and absolutely loved it!
